If you haven’t seen the latest MCJ Report from the 26th May 2022 you need to.
The first half of the show Morgan presents several recorded conversations and videos with AEC staff all around the country advising voters via telephone or at polling booths not to vote above the line for Grouped Independents because those boxes are in some way not representing anybody and their vote may not be counted. The evidence is clear and undeniable. A portion of AEC staff do not understand the senate voting ticket and therefore are either unwittingly or deliberately misleading voters not to vote for independents. The result is potentially thousands of lost votes for independents around the country.
Obtaining the final quota necessary to fill a seat in the Senate usually comes down to very tight preference allocations between a number of smaller parties and independents. If boxes are left blank this could sway the preference flow enough to change the result.
To make matters worse the AEC denies any of its staff advised voters not to vote for independent candidates above the line calling it “misinformation.” Now if this was an isolated incident, one could understand that claim, but it appears not to be. Numerous AEC staff have been caught on recordings misleading voters on the voting process.
Cam Tinley from No Mandatory Vaccination Party also highlighted the problems with AEC staff on election day:
On the day, Electoral Officials were instructing people to vote 1 to 6 Above the Line. They should not have done this. They were interfering with the voting process by giving this recommendation.
You can vote 1 only, or 1 to 21 Above the Line. As long as you haven't used a number more than once it is a valid vote.
Voting 1 to 6 is completely arbitrary. People will however listen to advice given to them by an AEC official.
Other strange things are afoot this election. Figures released by the AEC show that one quarter of Australians enrolled to vote failed to turn out to vote.
This would be the highest number of people who have failed to turn up to polling booths since 1922. Now perhaps these figures are still being finalised. Or perhaps people were still too scared of the rebadged cold virus turned Covid propaganda to come out of their homes. Or maybe choosing between Albanese and Morrison was just too awful a choice to face this election. But no doubt the AEC will find these missing voters to collect on their fines. The AEC also tells us that 5.5% of people who turned out cast an informal vote. In NSW the donkey vote rate when as high as 7.14%.
Perhaps the high number informal votes can be explained by AEC electoral staff spreading “misinformation” on how to vote, since they aren’t sure themselves on exactly how to vote. There are other oddities according to the United Australia Party:
The party has video evidence from a number of sources showing AEC officers removing large numbers of ballot boxes in vans which, in breach of the law, were taken to their private residences. Moreover, our party has been flooded with serious complaints of improper occurrences on Election Day and have been contacted by other parties who have experienced a whole range of anomalies requiring investigation.
Anthony Albanese was sworn in as Prime Minister, together with his interim ministry, before any writs had been returned or any final result of any seat was known. Never in Australian history has a new Prime Minister been sworn in so quickly after Election Day.
Now Albanese did have to fly off to a meeting in Tokyo where Joe Biden joked it would be OK for him to fall asleep,
maybe that explains it. And the other claim is entirely unverified at this stage. But it does seem with each passing election the ruling class are less and less concerned with making a good show of electoral integrity and due process. Now I get it. Every election sore losers claim the system is rigged. I am not one to play sore loser. I saw enough people go in and foolishly vote red and blue to know that this country has big problems besides electoral fraud.
Nevertheless, for the sake of election integrity, after seeing the evidence presented, I am not sure what conclusion you can come to other than the fact that the AEC is a corrupt and incompetent clown show incapable of running an honest and fair election. If their own electoral staff do not understand the Senate voting system how on earth are the Australian voters supposed to know how to properly fill out the ballot paper? How can we trust any of the results?
The only fair thing to do is to re-run the Senate election. It has been done before. The AEC should apologise for misleading voters. The Senate ballot papers should be reprinted to include better labelling of above the line boxes so people recognise they are voting for a group of independents.
The AEC needs to educate all its staff members and accredit them on understanding the voting system especially proper handling of the count. AEC staffers need to be taught not to give advice on election day that might interfere with results. Voters and scrutineers ought to be able to see this accreditation at the polling booth for every staff member. Maybe there is already a process for this, but if there is, it appears to be failing miserably.
Finally the government should fund a public education campaign on how to vote correctly on the back of this apology from the AEC. But having a vast number not knowing how to vote benefits the two favourite horses, so don’t expect them to change this any time soon.

The Australian Electoral Commission: A Corrupt and Incompetent Clown Show
I wonder if there is a connection between the reason the AEC fired staff to bring in these misinformers, the reason it was hard for that independent group to have an easily identifiable party name and the reason they were running in the first place. :)
